Tablets and OS: the gauntlet has been thrown down

There’ll be a huge gap this year between 7’’ low-budget devices and top-of-the-range models.  Android’s low-cost mini-tablets Cheaper and more portable, the first 7’’ tablets running Google’s OS were popular in the consumer market but, despite reclaiming some market shares from the iPad, are not yet a serious contender for Apple.
